Water Scarcity in Africa

1 in 3 people are affected by water scarcity around Africa. Population growth and changes in the climate have only worsened the situation in recent years.

Boreholes in Malawi

From droughts to water shortages as a result of climate change and a spread of cholera, around 5.7 million people in the country don’t have clean water.

The lack of clean water results in premature deaths and the spread of disease, which is why we’re on the ground installing boreholes across remote villages.

Through providing clean water, we are also helping improve hygiene and sanitation around the country.

Boreholes in Afghanistan

Half of Afghanistan’s population is suffering from chronic poverty, in what has been dubbed one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

Many remote villages have been totally cut off from all vital services, and have been forced to resort to boiling the surface water of sewage for their consumption.

We’re installing water wells and boreholes for people, so they have access to clean and safe water. The project helps empower locals and is keeping them protected from the spread of disease.

In Mozambique, 51% of the population do not have clean water

Previous campaigns

Lebanon food distribution

After being pummeled with numerous crises and a weakening economy, Lebanon has been hit hard in recent years. Many of those suffering the most are displaced communities living in the country’s refugee camps, who have little to no access to vital resources.

Due to their refugee status, many of those living in the camps are unable to secure proper jobs and earn a stable income, making access to food difficult.

Malawi borehole project

Thousands of people living in rural areas of Malawi have no access to clean and safe drinking water.

For many, their day centres around their long trek to a far away puddle of water, where they fill their buckets and take it back home to use for everything, from drinking to cleaning and washing. Often, this water is filled with mud and is unsafe.

Bread project in Afghanistan

Afghanistan is currently in a state of emergency. As one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises, women and children are some of those suffering the most. According to the World Food Programme, over 19 million people in the country do not have sufficient access to food.

As the country is on the brink of economic collapse, people have almost no access to food.

Impact has a global reach. We are a humanitarian and development charity which operates around the world.
